Re: tool for detect modems in a lan

To see which Windows 2k hosts in a specific IP range have modems you can try msinfo32.exe (winmsd.exe) in a script or as below from the command prompt (however 250 simultaneous instances of msinfo32 will slow you down for a few minutes).

for /l %i in (1,1,250) do winmsd /report 10_0_0_%i.txt /categories +ComponentsModem /computer 10.0.0.%i

Next simply find:
find /i "Name" *.txt >summary.txt
