RE: suggestions on a good firewall

You can use the firewall and the system
that you want. But, if you want security, you need to KNOW what are you
doing ...
To configure a firewall using OpenBSD+PF is very simple and powerfull
but you need to know a little about OpenBSD to run the ALL the system
correctly. If you know all the misterys of iptables you will be able to
configure an excelente firewall using linux ...
The problem is not the system, is the administrator. You need to use
the Firewall that you know more about.

I have been using IPCOP since the Smoothwall fork. Great tool. Excellent
support. True Open Source.

To the best of my knowledge an IPCOP box has never been breached.

V1.3 which is just out sees some significant core changes including the
change to IPTABLES and Snort 2.0.

Never used an Open BSD fw so I cannot comment here however the efforts
put in by the IPCOP team have kept me secure. Period.

Use with confidence.
