RE: Security for Notebooks

First off, great "typo", I had to laugh. I think you meant "stolen" not
stoned. But there was a "stoned" virus once that slowed your cpu speed....

1) Lapjack software such as computrace and other similar. My husband is a
detective and they recover them quite a bit using the software and proper
subpoenas, etc.

2) I think the magentic/proximity alarms that they use in dept/retail
stores would probably be good for you if you hid them inside the laptop and
put the sensors by your exits or doors leading to elevator banks, but of
course that can be circumvented. There are probably some that can give more
than an audible alarm such as tracing/logging but I am unfamiliar with it.
If you make it really loud and obnoxious you can scare the bejesus out of
them!

Subject: Security for Notebooks

I am serching for two diferent solutions:

1) If the notebook is lost or stoned a software that can inform, via
internet, the ip where is connected.
2) If some one takes the notebook from the bilding any chip or similar that
alerts, may by using an arc or similar

this is for about 300.
