I'm not sure if "spoofing" is the correct term but here is what has

YOu may indeed call it spoofing!

Someone is sending out email messages (with virus laden attachments)
using our domain name ... they are addressed as coming from
support () ourdomainname com (ourdomainame would be our actual domain name)
which is an email address that we never set up.

My question is how is this done and is there anything we can do to
prevent this in the future? The message header looks like this:

How - You just need your own smtp service running on your system/server
and you may send out emails as anyone using some flags on the command
line...
For you to do - I don't think you can stop someone doing it from, as
they might be spoofing their IP too or could be doing so from another
country or whatever reason...
SPF is coming up as an answer to spoofing atleast and you may want to
look at http://spf.pobox.com
This is no way out and I would await any suggestions on this list for
what can we do to someone spoofing as our domain/email...

Regards
Aman
