Thanks for the support...

But I´m new to Wireless and I didn´t understand how I put it into rfmon. I use Windows XP and inted to install SUSE 9.0 Pro this weekend. Do I have to let the SSID configured for "ANY" and NOT in Peer to Peer (Ad Hoc) mode? Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions

I tend to like the Orinoco cards; Prism based cards also work, IIRC. In my opinion, Linux is better, as long as you have driver support and that driver supports putting it into radio mode (rfmon mode). When you are war[driving|walking|sailing|biking] you are using your card as a passive radio first in raw mode (rfmon mode), to detect networks transmitting in the 2.4ghz band.

Hi there! I would like to know what is the best config for a Wireless Card for searching APs in a building. I´m using NetStumbler and had found my own AP, but my card was configured with my network settings. To find other ones, do I have to set an IP or use DHCP? What is the windows network configuration to use?
I know that the SSID must be ANY or (NULL), right?
I have an LG W1100N Prism2 Card (Windows XP).
I haven´t tried to use it in LINUX... does Linux do the job better than Windows XP?
Thanks.
