Yes you could use sftp or scp to have encrypted sessions although Ive found that making a SSH tunnel is sometimes just 
better because its like killing two birds with one stone. Perhaps you want encrypt everything that is open over the 
wire/waves and not just FTP.

mmmm, ssh for windows without cygwin!! that works with domains!! Well it does partly, Ive had some issues
