Mike,

Security+ is not bad, but the (ISC)2 makes another cert called the
SSCP which is more detailed ( and also more difficult). Also, there is
a cert I just found out about called CIW. You can find more details
here http://www.ciwcertified.com/csa/default.asp?comm=CND&llm=3.
THe only thing about the CIW is that you must already have a networking cert.
