Security Basics: implementing a secure link

Hi guys,
Currently i have 2 branches which are accessing the internet via a
central server/router. I want to implement an encrypted link from the
central router to the branch routers since the link is vulnerable to
taps. How can i do this or where can i find documentation on how to do
it?
