ok so I don't have a degree from a University, I am one of those that
dropped out and got certifications instead and real world experience.
This was a good move at the time as I made very good money and i
actually still do BUT I would like to get a University degree within
the IS domain. There are plenty of Universities advertising online
studying etc. but since I live in northern europe usually a no-no to
enroll. Plus tuition costs are free here for "real university" but
time is a problem to go during the day or even at night, self study
at a reasonable price would be best. Does anyone have any
suggestions for this? Or is it even wroth it?
Just to list the "certs" so you can see that i am not just doing the
"normal" ones :)
MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA,LCP,CISSP,SCSP(x4),SCTA(x4), and just about to
come: GIAC:GCUX
I mean yes, compared to my real world experience they don't mean
squat but every employer I have been with so far wanted me to get one
of these.
Anyway , any thoughts are really appreciated, as I sometimes feel
like some people "respect" your opinion more with a degree, even
though I can hold my own with very seasoned professionals and this
can just be in my head too...
cheers already
