Perfectly possible to do.

Either you just balance it by throwing the traffic in a round robin
style, or you get a load balancer that does SSL, and decrypt all the
traffic, before it reaches your servers.

Have both set up where I'm working. 

The cheapest balancer I've seen with SSL decryption is the Kemp
Technologies Loadmaster 1500. Which is far too yellow for its own good.
But it works, reasonably. 

I'm running it without decryption through a Cisco CSS 11051.

Both work just fine.

possible, other say no. Some vendors say yes, some friends say no :(.
