We've had a system in place that does just this for a few years now. We
use a product called LogCaster by Rippletech
(http://www.rippletech.com). It's fairly inexpensive and does a lot
more than consolidate event logs.

It's a wonderful tool that is amazingly customizable. It uses SQL
server as a database and reporting services for canned reports. If you
know the SQL reporting services, it's a snap to create your own.

The company has a great support team. They give yearly checkups to make
sure your install is working and that you don't have any questions or

It also can gather Syslog events. It checks performance metrics, has
alerting, etc...

It's fairly inexpensive also.

We are also busy with such project and have looked at netForensics
(http://www.netforensics.com/) and NetIQ (http://www.netiq.com/).

Enjoy the researching, I know I have.

We are looking into a low cost easy to setup software that will
consolidate the eventlogs of our servers in one location. I found a
product called Network Event Viewer by a company called Corner Bowl
Software. You can direct the eventlogs into a SQL database and also you

can have it send emails based on criteria you specify. So far I am just

saying basically what the webpage says. I was wondering if any of you
have experience using this product and what your thoughts are? If you
have additional suggestions on low cost solutions I would be happy to
entertain them as well.
