Security Basics: Protector Suite QL Filesafe

Does anyone know if you can unlock files or folders locked with Protector
Suite QL via fingerprint when the user's passport has been deleted or
non-existent? After changing the user's passport (without exporting the
passport) we are unable to unlock a file and a folder. Unfortunately, the
file and folder where locked without an optional password. I have contacted
UPEK, but they werent very helpful. I hope some of you guys on the list may
have a workaround
