Re: NMap scanning from ethernet lan to wifi part

the suggested nmap switches do not work.
there is no other mode to put the wifi router in.

@troy:

yes, i am scanning through 2 NAT's, a point i am well aware off.
imho, this cannot be the cause of my problems, since i do everything
through these NAT's, including bittorrent and nmap scans to outside
addresses, all which works just fine.
please correct me if this thought is wrong ;-)
also, the setup as it is is static, the first router = wifi router,
this i cannot change.
so your suggestion to route all traffic through the other router is
not an option.

i've reread the docs on the wifi router, and i think i can't get it
good with it.
if only it'd been an opnwrt compatible router :(

thanx already for all the input!
it has been very usefull :)

Is filtering enabled on the router, this could be blocking any type of icmp

Subject: NMap scanning from ethernet lan to wifi part

Hi,

This is the setup: 1 ethernet/wifi router with 3 wifi clients connected to
it.
1 ethernet router with wired connectien
3 pc,s behind the last router.

now, when i start an nmap scan of the subnet of the ethernet/wifi
router, all i detect is the router itself.
so, none of the wifi-connected pc's show up. is this normal?
is there a way to see those clients?

router model is SMC2804WBR.

Thanx for any input,
brabo.
