RE: Denied the CISSP, what are oher options

I'm in the same situation for the experience, i have 4yrs (im 26) and people are not really taking that seriously. I have 5 cert entry lvl, and i had to choose between CISSP/CEH/CISA. I took my CEH (certified ethical hacker) and no one seems to know/care about it (4k$ in the drain). How ever the CISA (certified information security auditor) is very well known and a lot of people are looking for security professionnals with it.
I'm passing my CISA on the 14 of june and from my study and experience with ISACA (Im a new member) i'm more then satisfied and impressed.

If you want to do security and be an auditor CISA would be a very very good CERT for you.
Btw Security+ (as with most of the comptia cert) are entry lvl and wont do much good for someone serious. I have myself A+ hardware,os core, Network+ and my Server+ and CEH. Nobody knows any of these beside A+ and thats just stupid

I do belive how ever that CISA also has a code of ethic, i dont know why you would not pass CISSP but CISA may also be as strict, you would have to double check with your history.

I hope this helped, good luck on your research

Merci

Objet : Denied the CISSP, what are oher options

Due to a facebook "breach of ethics" violation at work I don't think I will be getting this cert due to the code of ethics associated with the CISSP.

I'm middle aged and have reservations about going back for a 4 year degree. Most postings for security analysts want a CISSP or a degree. I have 4 years solid experience, but that doesn't count for much these days.

What suggestions can anyone give me for other certs that will help get a better job? The MCSE security cert? CCNP security? Security+ ? Are any of these going to get me anywhere further in my career? I don't have the cash for the SANS as I live outside the US.
