Without fully knowing what you mean by this
“Due to a facebook "breach of ethics" violation at work" It is hard to
say if you will be declined the CISSP certification. I would call ISC2 and
talk to them and not rely on internet users to help answer that question.

As far as the other part of your question yes the CISSP is good to get you
in the door but there are many other certs that will help in your career
as well it all depends what you are looking to do in the security field.
Every vendor out there has some cert or another. Find the niche you want
to focus on then focus on certs in that area. Remember the CISSP cert is a
general cert something that your years of schooling and some work
experience should show that you have the same knowledge.
