Adriel,
I think your last email focused on explain Automated tools are fooling
clients and should not be used by "security experts" and bla, bla,
bla.
But that was understood since first mail in this discussion, i ( and i
think Michael) are not saying you should use Automated tools, we are
saying it is a combination of Automated (your own tool or commercial
one) and Educated (Manual) Testing. This last part is what
differentiate good from bad Security Consultants right?
Then we all agree,
Conclusion for Clients looking for Security Testing:
Do not accept companies that sells Security Testing services and based
their findings in tools like Acunetix, webinspect.
I have found Critical vulnerabilities rated as Low by those tools or
even worst never seen by them. :-)
