I am very unhappy :-( to be receiving anything that looks like
credit card numbers, names, and expiration dates.

I'm not too thrilled by it either, but I suppose it's better than
sending it to some list _without_ white hats on it.  (It'd be
interesting to know how many independent copies of that list end up in
the hands of the fraud units of the credit card issuers... :-)

bugtraq is about free dissemination of information.

So, shall I start feeding alt.binaries.pictures.copyright-violations,
er, .erotica into it?  Really now.  Bugtraq - at least the bugtraq I
thought I subscribed to - is about free dissemination of information
related to bugs and other security holes.  A list of credit card
numbers and dates, and username/password pairs for an unspecified
system, hardly qualifies.  IMO, of course.

Unfortunately I don't see much that can be done to stop it.
