Assuming you use a "Real OS(tm)" ;-)

On what OS?  Isnt it the case that ps's on these /proc systems often need
to run setuid root, so that than can ioctl(2) everyone's processes?


For an example of a non setuid ps and a great proc filesystem take a look
at the Linux implementaion of the two.
