AIX 4.3.2 has the problem too if you have the bos.adt.debug fileset
installed.

# which adb
/usr/bin/adb
# lslpp -w /usr/bin/adb
  File                                        Fileset               Type
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  /usr/bin/adb                                bos.adt.debug         File
