According to Rapid 7 Security Advisories:

We were able to reproduce this on our OpenBSD 2.9-STABLE
systems.


This code did not crash a NetBSD 1.5 machine:

[blymn () rover] ./crashme 
Before pipe

Segmentation fault (core dumped)
