I shared that with a collector of mathematical triva.
His reply:
the area of an 82' circle is 5281 sq.ft.,
because 5281 is pi*41^2 , very nearly.
as it happens, 82' = 25 m, so this circle
is also 25 meters across.
note that this 25m circle is what you get
when you coil a 1 mile-long cable, 1 foot
in diameter, in a tight, flat, spiral coil.
