Firewall Wizards: A question of charter

A question of charter

DO NOT REPLY TO THE LIST! REPLIES TO THE LIST WILL NOT BE POSTED!

I've recently gotten several offline Emails about the list and its
purpose. The gist was that there's a question whether this list is:
-> firewalls_at_greatcircle without flames and spam
OR
-> a forum on advanced security and firewalls without flames and spam

I believe that either would be useful!! :) The question is: what do
YOU all think? Should I tighten down the moderator filter and weed
out more of the "extraneous" discussion, or should I keep going about
the way I am?

My purpose in doing this was mostly to avoid flames and spam, so I am
comfortable with the list being either sort. What I'd like is your
feedback. Email directly to me (NOT THE LIST) and I'll summarize in
about a week or so and let you know what I'll do. Before any of you
suggest it, I will not split the list -- it already takes a lot of time
to moderate one list. Anyhow, if you've got opinions, please voice
them to me and we'll see if I need to adjust the way I'm moderating.

mjr.
