It uses pure tcp connection and works ok over NAT and CLG.
I hacked a dirty proxy once to allow incoming ssh connections to TIS fwtk
tn-gw.. although it needs major improvement. Hope i'll do something when
i'll finish the work on irc-gw main features..

ssh can also be used as VPN tool - you can run ppp over it.
