As someone who made a sendmail config mistake and opened up relaying for a
couple of weeks, It is even more difficult to get yourself removed from
something like a RBL if you do not even know that you are put on it. I
discovered it when some of my personal mail was bounced, I had fixed the
problem a week before, but I was still seeing mail bounce from some people
for months.
Gathering the info is a good idea, what bothers me (and apparently others)
is the talk of setting up automatic responces to it. If the info is just
gathered and logged, then you will be able to tell if it is a one user
hits one network vs. many users hitting hundreds of networks.
