kerberos,ipsec and application proxies

I am thinking about addidng Kerberos support to fwtk.
Does this idea worth time to spend? Is kerberos still useful now -
if we have ipsec to provide encryption and authentication on IP address
basis so kerberos is good for user authenitcation only? I've noticed
that windoze world supports ipsec much better than kerberos..
