Try creating a directory named c:\tmp and point it there, i had Snort on
W2K, but I forget how I had it running. I run it on Linux now, it doesn't
drop packets anymore.

Subject: Snort on Win2k
Greetings,
I am having a problem using Snort as a IDS on a Windows 2000 running IIS. I
believe my problem is editing the php.ini that is placed on the root of
WINNT i get an error stating
Warning: Failed to write session date (files). Please verify that the
current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0
what i have tried to do to solve this is set session.save_path in php.ini i
have set it to c:\winnt\temp and it gives me this erros also i have tried
c:/winnt/temp dont know what else to do. i would appreciate you knowledge
on this subject thank you
