but well over two years ago now Billy Boy went
public and told the
world that security is now more important than
features. Of course,
the skeptical part of the world did not believe that
Billy really mean
it and the skeptical part of the world has been
proven right for more
than two years as almost no-one at Microsoft has
actually acted in line
with that edict, but according to Bill's public
softie cannot validly say any more "it might break
something on some
obscure site" as a reason (or worse, an excuse) for
not fixing some
glaring security flaw...
If M$ wan't to put new features..... I believe; that
ain't bad, just a kind of evolution. BUT, the worst
thing about M$ is IT FORCES THE USERS to a high degree
TO USE FEATURES that it puts in its product even
while the user don't want to.....
Such practice is sure to repeal a security concious
user away from M$ products. At-lest M$ should have an
option to let users choose; whether they wanna use a
particular feature or remove it.
This will certainly reduce a considerable amount of
attack. The one reason linux is comparatively secure
is, eg: the user has option to choose between
lynx/links/mozilla/opera... as per their taste and
requirememt. This will ceratinly reduce/slow-down any
'mass attack' to a greater degree.
