How do you know the hacker was attacking from his own IP address?  That's a
pretty bold assumption.  Surely he could've hacked from a compromised PC
within China?  And of course, that could also mean the origin of the attacks
was outside China.  It's all speculation, but your assumption simply can't
be proven.
