im not sure if this is out of context for this list ..apologies if it
is:

i'm having snor installation trouble , i didnt have libpcap installed so

i got it from  ftp://ftp.ee.lbl.gov/libpcap.tar.Z  ..did a ./configure,
make and make install without any errors, then returned to ./configure
for snort but still got:

ERROR!  Libpcap header not found, go get it from
   ftp://ftp.ee.lbl.gov/libpcap.tar.Z
   or use the --with-libpcap-* options.
   See the INSTALL file for more information.

..i cant seem to locate libpcap anywhere on the system despite the
'successsfull' install ..anyone have any suggestions on what im doing
wrong ? ..thnx in advance
