I agree. I worked in a SCIF during the same timeframe and it was
standard policy not to carry cell phones or pagers into the SCIF. And
it was vigorously enforced.
I certainly wouldn't have tried to bring one of those devices into the
NMJIC or NMCC at the Pentagon either. It was common knowledge.

"The Pentagon has begun prohibiting" Begun? I worked in a SCIF in
the early 90's and that policy was already vigorously enforced.
Looks like someone's trying to pass off old policy as new news.
