Michael Lane Thomas and Brian Martin sound off on Microsoft software
security, the STPP initiative, and what they could mean to you.

In the wake of recent worm attacks against its IIS Web server software
and an Internet security analyst's subsequent recommendation that
customers seek alternatives, Microsoft this month launched a new
security initiative, the Strategic Technology Protection Program
(STPP). Among the program's provisions are free virus-related product
support, an online Security Tool Kit, and customer outreach via
Microsoft's account managers and field representatives. Michael Lane
Thomas and Brian Martin voice their opinions regarding Microsoft
software security and the STPP initiative.
