Information Security News: Ferghana.ru attacked by hackers

Ferghana.ru information agency.s web-site was under massive DoS attack 
on 20 of June at 4 p.m. (Moscow time), the news agency reported. A 
denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) is an attempt to make a computer 
resource unavailable to its intended users. The attack lasted for over 
12 hours.

"As a result our web-server was inaccessible for 5 hours. At present 
time provider company.s specialists activated the functioning of our 
web-site, however many of our visitors are still experiencing problems 
with the access to our internet resource," the news agency reported.

The identity of hackers is still unknown to the Ferghana.ru. The 
information agency will personally probe into the incident.
