JOB REQUIREMENTS

Our client, a leading vendor of Information Security Technology, is seeking a Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering for its Metro NY & NJ regional office. This position will require a blend of home/ virtual office, Midtown Manhattan sales office and regional travel.
The Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering is responsible for supporting the territorial sales force for all their pre-sales requirements.
Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering must:
• Ensure that all Pre-Sales System Engineers trained at a level that allows them to accomplish their job criteria, including but not limited to in-house company technical and professional training, as well as personal development.
• Work with Territorial Sales Managers to ensure their pre-sales objectives are met, by ensuring the technical skill level is available for sales presentations and product demonstrations, as well be responsible for making certain that forecast objectives are met.
• Attend sales visits to ensure pre-sales team member proficiency
• Manage Territorial Schedules for optimum utilization of resources.
• Timely completion of personnel related tasks, including but not limited Expense reports, Quarterly and Annual evaluations.
• Work with Direct, Channels, Government sales to ensure their pre-sales needs are met (regional)
• Develop territorial SE experts to align with product lines defined by corporate marketing
• Keep track of all pre-sales related equipment (laptops, cell phones, etc.)
• Monitor travel and expenses
• Develop and execute employee recruiting, retention and quality strategies.
• Delegation, directing others, task prioritization and follow up, motivating others, negotiating, planning, time management, managing vision and purpose.
Approximately 5+ years previous Pre-Sales Systems Engineering Management or other Management experience for a IT Vendor (Security, Storage, Software, Networks, Telecom, Wireless) is necessary.
Ambitious, hard-working, goal oriented, team player and enthusiastic.
Strong presentation skills required
Management Background in a succesful, high profile firm from any of the following firms strongly preferred: ISS, Check Point, McAfee, EMC, Dell, StorageTek, McData, Sun, HP.
A BS in computer science, engineering, a related discipline or equivalent experience is required.
