Department Description The Gemini team is a software development group within ASTRO Systems Engineering (ASE). Gemini engineers develop back to back user agent platforms that provide interoperability between ASTRO P25 and Broadband networks. The team’s goal is the development of a system platform architecture which will support multimedia, Land Mobile Radio voice, data and wireline Interconnectivity, Seamless Roaming, Collaboration and Multi-Network services. Immediate technology focus will be placed upon network gateways, protocols, and interfaces. The main target of our business is mission critical applications used in public safety
The Gemini Development Team was formed at the beginning of 2008 and has been steadily growing over the course of this year. The team currently consists of approximately 20 employees with a diverse skill set; system architects, product architects, program managers, software engineers, and product test engineers. The majority of our development team is focused on real time embedded applications. The Gemini Development Team works in close partnership with other product/software engineering teams, system test, and field implementation and support teams in support of the entire product lifecycle.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations Work as part of a team in the development of next generation, inter-operability products within a communication system. This role will develop strategies and define roadmaps in the area of Information Technology (IT) and Information Assurance (IA) for our product platform operating within a large communication system. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing compliance with current IA and IT requirements throughout the release cycle, ensuring that they meet customer needs. The candidate will also contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of engineering methods, tools, environment, and quality. The candidate will typically work in a cross functional environment comprising business management, system and product architects, the engineering development team, service, and other customer support organizations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Specific Knowledge/Skills Experience with the ASTRO platform a plus
CISSP certification is a plus
Experience with multiple operating systems including: Unix and windows
An understanding of the service model, prior experience in service and/or an IT background
Experience with Information Assurance and Information Security and Cryptography requirements/techniques
High level of organizational aptitude with demonstrated ability to plan, organize and schedule individual work assignments
Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments in accordance with defined objectives and timelines
Demonstrated ability to measure, analyze and improve personal and organizational methods and processes
Strong ability to work across teams with differing backgrounds to generate consensus
Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, and creativity within a team environment
Experience with DITSCAP, DIACAP, NIST 800, fisma, fips 800 or other security policies
Results oriented individual with the ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic, self-directed work environment
Ability to communicate highly technical information to a broad range of technical and non-technical individuals.
Experience with developing network applications and network engineering is a plus
Experience with standard IT functions such as syslog, Active Directory, etc is a plus
experience with Broadband networks a plus
Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract
