Position: Security Engineer
Location: Mountain View , California, United States
Type: Permanent P/T

Responsibilities will include working on security aspects of LinkedIn’s highly distributed Java based software systems
The individual should have at least 5 years of experience on a variety of platforms and technologies
Highly aware of web-based attack vectors and systems that be build and patterns that should be followed to solve them
JOB REQUIREMENTS

The individual should have at least 5 years of experience on a variety of platforms and technologies
Highly aware of web-based attack vectors and systems that be build and patterns that should be followed to solve them
Understanding of the following:
1) ID management in a very large scale manner
2) Web security models
3) Threat modeling
4) Security penetration
5) Web services security:
a. cross-site scripting,
b. sql injection,
c. DoS attacks,
d. XML/SOAP and API attacks,
e. email security flaws and more.
At least 3 years of building large highly-scaled complex N-Tier/SOA web-based business applications.
Professional hands-on experience with designing and developing applications using Java, Web-Services, and various data stores in a highly scaled web environment.
Responsibilities will include working on various aspects of LinkedIn’s highly distributed Java based software systems.
Strong object-oriented, design and development experience required.
Strong SOA skill set needed
Use of iterative development methodologies a must.
Experience:
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of fulltime software development experience in online environments.
Strong Java skills with a deep understanding of object-oriented design, including fluency in applying design patterns and unit testing.
Deep web skills with full understanding of web technologies from HTTP on up
Strong experience building Java-based web applications is critical. You should also have hands-on experience with a range of related tools, libraries, and practices, such as: Spring, SOA, OSGI.
Excellent communication skills; Highly self-directed
Must have effective oral and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate challenging or technical concepts.
Full software development lifecycle experience, must be comfortable working using Agile methodology as well as iterative methodologies
Experience with Test-driven development,
Using tools like JProbe, JProfile to spot performance issues and memory leaks.
Nice to Have:
Experience and interaction with open source framework/libraries/concepts/tools such as, Hibernate, JMS (ActiveMQ), memcached, Freemarker, Tomcat, JBoss, subversion, maven, and Ruby on Rails.
