IT Forensic Investigator
Major Financial Organisation
London

A rare opportunity to move into a major Financial organisation.

Are you an IT Forensics professional interested in working within Financial Services? Maybe you are currently in Law Enforcement? Or working as a Consultant and want to move away from the business development/marketing aspects of that work?

Working as a key part of this Digital Evidence Team, you will provide specialist IT Forensic expertise to wider Teams of Investigators and Lawyers.

You will take responsibility for:

- advising investigators on the availability of digital evidence and its relevance to enquiries;

- working with investigators to acquire digital evidence through requirements, premises visits or search warrant;

- conducting examinations of digital evidence and preparing evidence for presentation to Courts and other judicial hearings;

- conducting interviews and taking statements in relation to digital evidence issues;

- training investigators and increasing awareness of digital evidence issues;

- playing a role in the running of the forensics lab eg assessment of new equipment / software, validation and development of new tools / techniques.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
To be successful in this role, you should:

- adopt an analytical approach and critically assesses information to inform effective and efficient course of action;

- have the ability to present the outcome of that analysis clearly and effectively, orally and in writing;

- be able to challenge intelligently and constructively;

- take responsibility for making timely decisions based on relevant analysis;

- have experience of conducting investigations and a good understanding of the rules of evidence, criminal investigation and relevant legislation;

- ideally have experience of interviewing and taking witness statements;

- ideally be currently working in a forensic accounting, civil or criminal investigations or law enforcement role within an accountancy firm, financial services firm or government body.

Technically you will have:

- an advanced level of forensic IT knowledge across a broad range from small devices to corporate systems - preferably evidenced by qualifications;

- sound experience of 'white collar' crime case work - preferably evidenced eg Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners;

- a strong aptitude for forensic work - including ability to analyse large volumes of complex information, produce complex evidence in usable formats for investigation teams, identify relevant issues and devise strategies to resolve them;
