Position: Security Consultant
Location: New Castle, Delaware, United States
Type: Contract

The Network Security Analyst is a member of Incident Detection and Vulnerabilityteam, leveraging his/her broad range of knowledge in network security, network engineering, systems administration, and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in performing hands-on network security support functions. This person provides technical expertise and mentors new staff members, as well as participates in information security “continuous improvement” initiatives. Daily responsibilities include performing Tier 2-3 Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) analysis and submission of incident reports, as well as providing operational support for network and information security applications and appliances, including but not limited to Network Intrusion Detection / Intrusion Prevention, Anomaly Detection, Network Behavior Analysis, Content Monitoring, and Security Incident and Event Management systems for the global enterprise network.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be self-motivated with strong analytical as well as interpersonal skills, with demonstrated success working individually as well as within a global team environment
• 3-5 years’ experience using or supporting Network Intrusion Detection / Intrusion Prevention, Anomaly Detection, Network Behavior Analysis, Content Monitoring, and Security Incident and Event Management systems
• 1-3 years’ experience performing raw packet captures and detailed packet analysis; experience writing or analyzing custom Snort-based IDS rules and signatures highly desired
• 1-3 years experience supporting Unix, Linux, and Microsoft Windows environments; experience supporting routers and switches a plus
• 1-3 years’ experience with vulnerability detection scanners and penetration testing tools desirable.
• Database administration experience and familiarity with Oracle and MySQL highly desirable
• Strong comprehension of TCP/IP networking, enterprise network topologies, and infrastructure (cabling and port management, firewalls, routers, switches, etc.)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of information and network security principles, with a major focus on LAN, WAN, and Internet security risks; completion of specialized IT Security training programs or courses (i.e. CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, and/or GIAC) combined with knowledge of enterprise security architecture best practices and firewall/IDS implementation experience desired.
