End-User question: problem running as root?
From: Rachel Willmer <rachel () willmer org>
Date: Tue, 30 Jul 2002 14:28:31 +0100

I've just installed Nmap V. 2.99RC2 on OpenBSD 3.1.

Running it as an unprivileged user, it appears to work just fine.

Running it as root against a machine I know to be up and accessible, it doesn't detect any ports and even the initial ping fails...

Is this a known problem?

Any pointers welcome...
Rachel
