Fyodor,

The adapter naming was just a small thing and maybe a symptom of a bigger probelm.

The WinPcap people had said something to the effect of
"A clean solution to the problem is to use pcap_findalldevs(), which is available on
both WinPcap and libpcap from quite a lot of time."

Specifcly you may want to look at

http://www.mail-archive.com/winpcap-users@winpcap.polito.it/msg01700.html

and this

http://seclists.org/lists/nmap-dev/2004/Apr-Jun/0024.html

It may help you greatly improve Nmap's windows compatability and cross platform code.

Any guesses when we will see a new versnion of Nmap anyway?

I made the change relating to adaptor naming. It is in the latest
nmap-dev test releases and will be in the next official release.

Cheers,
