Has anyone managed to compile nmap 3.50 on OS X 10.3.x?

Yes. You might try using Darwin ports. I have had better luck with
them than Fink. Fink did not work well after an upgrade from 10.2 to
10.3 for me and I like the ports in Darwin ports.

Nifty. I'll try Darwin ports, then. It seems like the fink maintainers
gave up after 10.3.x. A bunch of packages haven't been updated since
then and... well never mind. At least ports would have a BSD flavor
instead of trying to cram Debian into a BSD-based system (who's bright
idea was that?).

Thanks for the help.
