Has anyone managed to compile nmap 3.50 on OS X 10.3.x?
Yes. You might try using Darwin ports. I have had better luck with
them than Fink. Fink did not work well after an upgrade from 10.2 to
10.3 for me and I like the ports in Darwin ports.
Well for the archives or anyone that cares, Darwin ports works nearly
flawlessly on 10.3.4. I had one hiccup with an expat dependency, but
unlike any of the problems with fink, this was a trivial fix.
Most importantly, I got nmap 3.50 to build with SSL and PCRE, zero
problems. It works exactly as expected.
My advice to all the 10.3.x Mac users out there is to rm -rf /sw and
install Darwin ports instead.
Thanks for the tip MadHat!
