Ahhh.. Just saw Tahir's reference to the non-ethernet packets....
Ethereal is only seeing the ICMP packets (but in both directions, so nmap is still loosing the echo-reply.
Also, shouldn't nmap complain if it's unable to construct the ethernet (TCP port 80) packet?
Laptop's busy right now, so I'll run some more tests when it's free.
