Nmap Development: Problem running Nmap o Win XP Laptop

Problem running Nmap o Win XP Laptop

From: Bob Monkhouse <systeminspection_at_yahoo.com>

Hi all,

This is my first post to an Nmap mailing list, so here
goes....

I have installed the latest version of nmap-3.81 on my
Sony Vaio VGN-S2HP laptop which runs Win XP + SP2.

I have installed the latest WinPCap, which I believe
to work fine as I use Ethereal without any problems.

However, when I try and run a scan I get an nMap
('nuff said) error report, and the scan does not run
regardless of the type of scan used.

Copied below is the Application Event Viewer output:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Application Error
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
