Nmap Development: Operation not permitted

I have little problem with nmap:

[15:49][root () nasse:~]$ nmap -sS -O 80.55.142.146

Starting nmap 3.81 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2005-05-02
15:49 CEST sendto in send_ip_packet: sendto(3, packet, 60, 0,
80.55.142.146, 16) => Operation not permitted

I`m running Slackware 10.0 / 2.6.11.7
