Re: Can't find OS db file: Maybe a larger problem?

Thx for the catch. This is due to a mistake in nmap.cc.
You can download the latest nmap which contains the nmap-os-db file
and nmap would not show the message.
The mistake will be fixed in the next release.

Zhao Lei

Hi all,

Running: Nmap version 4.20ALPHA3

If I do absolutely anything with nmap like a syn scan, tcp scan ... Whatever

It thinks I'm trying to do an OS scan and asks for the OS db file.

Even if I do something nonsensical like this:

nmap -vv

Or something that makes some sense, like this:

nmap host -vv

Any ideas?

Take care,
Sina
