Nmap Development: nmap

hey.

I'm having trouble with the executing of nmap.exe. i installed it on my winxp sp2 based system. im using nmap ver 4.11 
------ I got the installer file form the site and installed it. but when i start the nmap.exe file, i just see a quick 
flash of a DOS screen and thats it. i have winpcap installed and everything. i dnt know whats wrong. please help me. im 
in great need..
