Nmap Development: I use ppp over ethernet

    Hi,

           Along with the nmap -iflist, I would like to give you some more details about my broadband connection. It 
uses PPPoE. The broadband modem/router can be connected on ethernet port (nic) or with the USB port (I generally use 
the USB port). Even I have tried the nic and ran nmap, but I am having the same problem. I tried to run superscan, but 
it also is not able to scan the ports.

            When I run nmap on my LAN (consists of my laptop, desktop and several  Win/Linux virtual machines), I see 
no problem and it works fine. I get this problem only when I connect to the internet.

                                Please see if you can give me a solution.

Would you run "nmap --iflist" and send us the output?  For some reason
Nmap seems to think your "ppp0" is ethernet.  You can block out the IP
addresses if you wish to.
