Where should I start in trying to fix this?

I am not sure what exactly is getting passed to ld that is causing it to
fail.

Thanks for the report.  I would be happy to integrate a patch if you
guys are able to find a good fix for this.  I do test Nmap on my
Solaris box, but it uses gcc.
