Nmap Development: Experimental Nmap development branches

Experimental Nmap development branches

Since they haven't been formally announced (though you've seen some
references to them on the -dev list), I wanted to introduce the new
Nmap experimental development SVN branches. These allow developers to
work on cool new Nmap features/enhancements without destabilizing the
main Nmap tree, but still allowing anyone to test the changes out and
send feedback. It is like how Andrew Morton and other Linux
developers maintain their own kernel tree. So far there are three
/nmap-exp branches.

Kris' branch, /nmap-exp/kris, is the most active so far. He does a
wide variety of bug fixes and code cleanup.

Doug's branch, /nmap-exp/doug , includes his ongoing port priority
work.

Diman's branch, /nmap-exp/diman , is focused on his Nmap Scripting
Engine (NSE) work.

You can obtain all of this code using the same username (guest) and
SVN repository as for Nmap. So the command to check out all three
branches is:

svn co --username guest svn://svn.insecure.org/nmap-exp

Just press "return" when you are prompted for a password.

Cheers,
Fyodor
