Yes, I fail to see why nmap should be at fault. It's like "fuzz"
testing (http://home.pacbell.net/s-max/scott/bulletproof-penguin.html):
You throw crap at some (program|system) and if it crashes, you found a
bug (in the program/system, not in the crap :) )
